Deployed from the ProLiant Support Pack, the HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition maintenance utility displays information about your server’s hardware configuration. HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition is a new web-enabled management agent provided with the ProLiant Essentials suite of products from HP. As of SmartStart 7.1, HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition featuring Survey and the IML Viewer will be replacing the Survey Utility previously included with SmartStart. The online version of HP Insight Diagnostics provides the same functionality as the Survey Utility for Windows and Linux and does not perform any hardware tests on the system. Although not required, it is recommended that you uninstall the current Survey Utility for Windows or Linux before beginning the installation of HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition. Insight Diagnostics includes a Web browser interface in addition to the command-line interface in an online mode. This enables remote control of the utility and facilitates easy transfer of configuration information from remote machines to a service provider. It can be updated from VCRM and VCA and with SIM, offers pro-active notification when an updated version is available. You can use Insight Diagnostics Online Edition to: - View the hardware configuration of the machine. - View the server Integrated Management Log. - View the software configuration of the machine. - Compare historical configurations of the machine. - Capture a new configuration sample. =============================================================== Environment and Requirements: Servers Supported: ProLiant BL40p All Models ProLiant BL30p All Models ProLiant BL20p G2 (2.8-3.06GHz), (1.4GHz) ProLiant BL10e G2 (1GHz+), (700-900MHz) ProLiant DL760 G2 (1.5GHz+), (700-900MHz) ProLiant DL740 (1.5GHz+) ProLiant DL585 (1.6GHz+) ProLiant DL580 G2 (1400MHz+), (700-900MHz) ProLiant DL560 (1.5GHz+) ProLiant DL380 G3 (2.4-3.2GHz), G2 (1133-1400MHz), (667-1000MHz) ProLiant DL380 G3 Packaged Cluster MSA1000, MSA500 ProLiant DL380 Packaged Cluster G2 (1266MHz) ProLiant DL360 G3 (2.4-3.2GHz), G2 (1.26-1.4GHz), (550-1266MHz) ProLiant DL320 G2 (2.26GHz+), (800-1.53GHz) ProLiant ML750 All Models ProLiant ML570 G2 (1.4-3.0GHz+), (667-1000MHz) ProLiant ML530 G2 (2.4GHz+), (667-1000MHz) ProLiant ML370 G3 (2.8-3.2GHz), G2 (1133-1400MHz), (600-1000MHz) ProLiant ML350 G3 (2.8-3.06GHz), G2 (1133-1400MHz ), (667-1000MHz) ProLiant ML330 G3 (2.4GHz+), G2 (1.4GHz) ProLiant ML310 All Models Operating Systems Supported: Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 with update 1 or greater. =============================================================== Installing Insight Diagnostics in Windows Prerequisites: Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows requires the following Smart Component to make full use of its capabilities: - Advanced System Management Driver To install Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows: Log on to the Windows server with administrator access rights.
