Introduction The "Compaq Storage Agents - Linux" software release contains Storage Agents program and related files for Linux. The Storage Agents take advantage of the systems management capabilities of Compaq servers. This release supports RedHat Linux 6.2 and Red Hat Linux 7.0. 2. Documentation Updates and Corrections This section contains information on known errors and omissions in the "Compaq Storage Agents - Linux" User Guide. The information in this section is more up-to-date than that in the User Guide. 3. Known Issues a. If your system is not certified for compaq health driver, the slot information for the host controller won't be correct. b. If the cpqarray driver version is 1.0.9 or older, the slot number for the SMART array controller won't be correct. c. If cpqfc driver version is 1.4.3 or older, the WWN and the slot number for the FC host controller won't be correct. 4. Installation 4.1 Before installing "Compaq Storage Agents - Linux" requires one or more of the Compaq storage drivers depending on the kind of host adapter cards it has. For Intelligent Drive Array adpater, it needs either Compaq SMART2 Driver or Compaq CISS Driver or both. For Fibre Channel host adapter, it needs the FCP-SCSI Driver. All the Compaq storage drivers can be downloaded from the following ftp site. ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/drivers/linux/released If the driver version in your system is not up-to-date, you may have to download patches and apply it to your driver source to get the most current driver. 4.2 Installing the Storage Agents 1. Make sure you have installed the Compaq Foundation Agents. 2. Use following command to install the Compaq Storage Agents: rpm -ivh cmastor-5.00-1.i386.rpm 4.3 After installation 1. Manually shut down and then re-start the snmpd agent. /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd stop /etc/rc.d/init.d/snmpd start 2. Manually start the Foundation agents /etc/rc.d/init.d/cmafdtn start 3. Manually start the Storage agents /etc/rc.d/init.d/cmastor start 5. New Features Added SCSI and IDE agents. 6. Supported Products 6.1 Supported OS and drivers. For RedHat 6.2 system, only Compaq SMART2 driver is supported. For RedHat 7.0 system, both Compaq CISS driver and Compaq FCP-SCSI driver are also supported. 6.2 Supported Host Controllers The "Compaq Storage Agents - Linux" have been tested on the following Compaq Storage Products: Compaq SMART-2/P Array Controller.
