If there is an older version of ACU (or ACU-XE) installed on the system, please use "rpm -e cpqacuxe" to remove it first. Use "rpm -i " to install the service. Please type "man rpm" for other details regarding RPM. The software resides in /opt/compaq/cpqacuxe and the executable name is cpqacuxe which is located in /usr/sbin. The password resetting utility is hphmmopasswd that is located in /opt/compaq/cpqacuxe/bld. Run the ACU server: Make sure that you have gone through the following checklist: . Only run ACU on servers that are on a local intranet or a secure network. . Secure the management port (port 2301) on your network. . You run cpqacuxe as root. To start the server: If /usr/sbin is already added in your path, just type: "cpqacuxe" for local access only or "cpqacuxe -R" for remote access. More options can be found by "cpqacuxe --help". Run the ACU client: 1. Open your browser (Netscape Navigator 6.2 or Mozilla 1.0 on Linux or Internet Explorer 5.5 or above on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/Windows 2000. If remote access is enabled: 2a. Type "http://SERVERNAME:2301" into the url field. The servername should be the IP address or server name of the host on which the ACU server is running. If remote access is disabled: 2b. Type "http://127.0.0.1:2301" into the url field on the machine on which the ACU server is running. 3. On the Device Home Page that opens in the browser, click the anonymous link near the top of the screen. You should now see a login screen. 4. Enter your username and password. For first-time use, these will both be administrator. Change the password to something else if you have not done that. NOTE: You can change the username or password by clicking the appropriate link on this screen. The choice of username is limited to user, guest, or administrator. When you have successfully logged in, you should see the Device Home Page again. 5. Click the ACU button near the bottom of the screen. Exiting ACU: 1. To exit the ACU client, close the browser by clicking on the Exit link. 2. To exit the ACU server, type "cpqacuxe -stop". Additional Notes ---------------- 1. Users will automatically be logged out after a predetermined period of inactivity when using ACU and will have to re-login. 2. On the Web-based Management Device Homepage, under "options", "Anonymous Access" should be enabled when using ACU. 3. When clicking on a controller that is currently being configured in a different ACU session, a message will appear which allows you to override the other ACU session or cancel. If you choose to override the other ACU session, any unsaved changes in the other session will be discarded. 4. To properly exit out of ACU session, click on the Exit link in the ACU window. 5. ACU is best viewed in Netscape with Verdana and Arial fonts. It is recommended that you install these fonts. 6. CCISS and CPQARRAY drivers support up to 16 logical drives per controller. After creating or deleting logical drives with ACU, under some special circumstances, the device name mapping might change after you first reboot the system. Also, Linux might see previously not visible logical drives after rebooting. This name mapping problem is common to all SCSI devices on linux. Please refer to drive_reordering.htm in the installation directory for detailed explaination. 7. Do not insert or remove a controller driver module when cpqacuxe is running. 8. Please stop the HP Storage Agents when deleting logical drives since HP Storage Agents keeps all logical drives open. 9. If all physical drives on a controller fail or are removed, software keys will not be saved to the controller.
