Q.1-2-1

If there are multiple back-end Web servers with individual authentication functions and each with different user IDs and passwords then how do we integrate them with IceWall SSO?

A. IceWall server will do automatic proxy login according to the back-end
Web server's authentication method.

(Example 1)
Back-end Web server's authentication ID/password is registered in authentication DB and IceWall server forwards this information by embedding it in the HTTP headers.

(Example 2)
For authentication, which is written in Servlet or CGI, use the HTML form for setting the authentication ID/password registered in the authentication DB of the back-end Web server and IceWall server sends the same to the back-end Web server.

Q.1-2-3

Is any special configuration required on the back-end Web server When introducing IceWall SSO?

A. The setting varies depending on the reverse proxy type and the agent type.

< Reverse proxy type >
Normally there is no need for any setting especially in the back-end Web server itself.
You will need to register the information to access back-end Web server in the authentication server.
In addition, if the authentication is performed on the back-end Web server side then settings are needed for automatic proxy login to IceWall server.

< Agent type >
You must install the agent IceWall on the Web server that is serving applications.
Furthermore you need to make the settings for incorporating IceWall agent into the Web server software as well as the setting of IceWall agent itself.
Same access rights settings are needed as reverse proxy type on the authentication server.

Q.1-2-4

How does IceWall SSO works if the time-out of the back-end Web server is generated in the before than the timeout of IceWall SSO?

A. During a session of IceWall SSO, there are cases when time-out may occur on the back-end Web server.
In IceWall SSO it is possible to log in again when the time-out has occurred by using the forms authentication feature or HTTP header information inheritance feature.
