NOTE: On some kernel erratas the version of the driver present in the kernel may be equal to the version being installed by the rpm. However, the driver in the kernel may not include all of the fixes and enhancements implemented in the driver contained within the rpm. Therefore the rpm should be installed in order to obtain the fixes and enhancements that are not present in the kernel driver. To install or upgrade the driver type: # rpm -Uvh kmod-cciss-4.6.28-14.el6.x86_64.rpm Setup is now complete. Please REBOOT your computer NOW!! NOTE: If the installation fails or if you see any warning or error messages, STOP, do NOT reboot the computer. The driver will not be operational and you must uninstall the driver by typing the following command: # rpm -e kmod-cciss-4.6.28-14.el6.x86_64 The removal of the RPM restores the system back to cciss.ko module that is included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. IMPORTANT: This KMOD RPM will install binary driver that supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and the errata kernels made available for this release. Once installed these drivers will be carried forward with each errata kernel upgrade using facilities included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. This is a big improvement from previouse releases allowing the customer to not wait on driver updates when errata kernels are released.
