Release Notes for ProLiant Support Pack for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, v7.80 Following is the list of all the components that changed in 7.80 from 7.71. ******************************** e1000-7.4.24b-1.src.rpm - HP NC-Series Intel Driver for Linux, v7.4.24b-1 Enhancements This driver now suppresses the generation of (DRIVER)-debuginfo-(VERSION).rpm. This package was not populated with any files that would aid debugging but the user can continue to use the driver modules with KGDB as it contains debug symbols. This driver now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. ******************************** bnx2-1.4.52d-1.src.rpm - HP NC-Series Multifunction Driver for Linux , v1.4.52d-1 Enhancements This driver now suppresses the generation of (DRIVER)-debuginfo-(VERSION).rpm. This package was not populated with any files that would aid debugging but the user can continue to use the driver modules with KGDB as it contains debug symbols. This driver now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. ******************************** tg3-3.71g-1.src.rpm - HP NC-Series Broadcom TG3 Driver for Linux , v3.71g-1 Fixes This driver no longer fails loopback when the MAC address is changed. This driver no longer overflows the buffer when writing to nvram. This driver no longer panics when writing to nvram. Enhancements This driver now suppresses the generation of (DRIVER)-debuginfo-(VERSION).rpm. This package was not populated with any files that would aid debugging but the user can continue to use the driver modules with KGDB as it contains debug symbols. This driver now supports Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. ******************************** hp-OpenIPMI-7.8.0-83.rhel5.i386.rpm - HP OpenIPMI Device Driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (x86), v7.8.0-83.rhel5 Fixes Resolved several issues where hp-OpenIPMI would not rebuild nor would not properly initialize in some configurations. Enhancements The hp-OpenIPMI man page has been updated to describe new debug features and explain some informational and warning messages. ******************************** hp-OpenIPMI-7.8.0-83.rhel5.x86_64.rpm - HP OpenIPMI Device Driver for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (AMD64/EM64T), v7.8.0-83.rhel5 Fixes Resolved several issues where hp-OpenIPMI would not rebuild nor would not properly initialize in some configurations. Enhancements The hp-OpenIPMI man page has been updated to describe new debug features and explain some informational and warning messages. ******************************** hpasm-7.8.0-88.rhel5.i586.rpm - HP System Health Application and Insight Management Agents for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (x86), v7.8.0-88.rhel5 Fixes Resolved a debug message from the hpasmxld or hpasmlited daemon displaying: "Message Class : 0x24". Resolved an issue where the hpasm "rebuild" process did not work as designed: The resulting RPM would not install correctly. Most of the issues were discovered on x86_64 Linux environments. Resolved an issue where the storage agent was not properly sourcing fan events when multiple storage enclosures where chained together. Resolved an issue where the tape status does not change to offline after the external Ultrium SAS tape is powered off. Resolved an issue where the storage agents did not properly detect SAS tapes attached to E500. Resolved an issue where the cmafcad agent can not correctly detect dual port FC HBA. Resolved an issue where the cmafcad agent shows MSA20 is connected to a wrong host controller. The version control agent has been fixed to include 斗atest version・and 都upport pack version・of the systems management homepage package. Resolve an issue where hpasmcli was showing UNKNOWN for some of the ipls when there was more than 5. Resolved an issue where the 都et boot first xxx・command was not properly setting the boot order for USB Keys and PXE. Enhancements The hpasm man page has been updated to describe the integration with the System Management Homepage. The storage agents were enhanced to recognize NCQ support on new SATA drives. Modified the MIB returned by the storage array agent to always return a valid status during an snmp walk. This is to workaround an issue with some 64 bit versions of net-snmp were not properly handling a return value of -1. Added new functionality to allow a user to leave the existing snmpd.conf file (/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf) alone and not add any values. This allows users to configure VACM for SNMP and allow other applications to co-exist with the hpasm package. A new ・etc/hpasmrc・variable has been created: CMASKIPSNMPCONFIG. This variable is populated as part of the 塗pasm activate・process. The resulting ・etc/hpasmrc・file has be used for 都ilent・or preconfigured installations. The hpasm 途ebuild・ process (see hpasm(4)) will automatically include this file and generate a new RPM suitable for remote deployment. Added new functionality to not add the user and group name 塗psmh・if the user does not wish to enable the HP ProLiant System Management Homepage (hpsmh). A new ・etc/hpasmrc・variable has been created: CMASKIPHPSMHCONFIG. The local addition of the user and group name 塗psmh・may create some issues in LDAP enabled environments Added new functionality to not default the value for the hpsmh user and group name to ・9. For those customers who choose the default setting to enable hpsmh support, the user name "hpsmh" and the group name "hpsmh" will take the default UID and GID provided by the Linux "useradd(8)" and "groupadd(8)" utilities. The health agent was enhanced to eliminate redundant polling to determine the health of the memory subsystem on some ProLiant systems. Excessive polling could lead to some lost ticks being reported by the kernel. CUSTOMER NOTE: If the HP System Management Homepage (hpsmh) is installed AFTER the hpasm package has been installed, you must execute "service hpasm reconfigure" to set the correct permissions for the "/opt/hp/hpsmh/data" directory. If the SNMP settings have been previously set, select the option to "Skip" the SNMP configuration and leave the existing file intact. Retirements: The hot plug memory driver (cmhp) for the DL740 / DL760 is now retired ******************************** hpasm-7.8.0-88.rhel5.x86_64.rpm - HP System Health Application and Insight Management Agents for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (AMD64/EM64T), v7.8.0-88.rhel5 Fixes Resolved a debug message from the hpasmxld or hpasmlited daemon displaying: "Message Class : 0x24".
